At Piazza Augusto Imperatore (the museum of Augustus) there was a cool little street art exhibition. It just consisted of some random things scattered along the perimeter fence, each one accompanied by a little sign (in English and in Italian). I thought it was kinda neat and I took pictures of each little stop along the tour. No one seemed to be there to take credit for it, but there was an old dude keeping people from taking elements of it away. Check it out.
No, I didn't put money in. Art is free, son.
Poignant, no?
The tour guides out here corral their people with goofy little flags
there were a ton of broken headphones laying around, just off camera
Speaks for itself
How existential
A balled up map of the city
and garbage it was
Oh the horror
Torn up train ticket, not a "Frozen" reference
Not gonna pretend I get all of these
There's something inherently sad about broken doll parts
The fact that the ash hadn't fallen was kinda cool
Maybe this is a message to the jocks vs artists debate?
The Ara Pacis is a huge mural you can see by turning around from this spot
Perhaps a self portrait of the artist?
A boatload of dough
this was particularly funny because the trevi fountain is closed for repairs
Art comes from everywhere, all you need are the tools
I guess it's something to do with a found shoe...
False Bible
impressionist impression
I guess that's why they stole it...
Chef's special
Fancy umbrella
you could probably reach if you tried
that's like, a 7 cent emergency
classic Greek tragedy
Just an example of how dangerous city driving can be
There was no bathroom. Lies!
Last one, the tiny sign by the head says "KO"
...and there you have it. As Tone Loc would say "You're a real weird guy, Ace".
