You may or may not know this about me, but I love parks. Big ones. Griffith Park kind of big. I like nature and walking around and looking at cool things (isn't that what living is, after all?). I have been meaning to check out Villa Borghese because it is essentially a huge park with neat things all over it, kinda like Balboa Park in San Diego. I finally went to see what it was all about and it did not disappoint, it's not something you can fully appreciate in a day, so I'll most definitely head back sometime soon. Here are some of the highlights from this trip:
Nice little reflecting pool on the way up the stairs from Piazza Del Popolo
The Cuteness
This is what was behind the cuteness, Borghese sits atop a pretty good sized hill.
This was staged at my request, thanks Chase!
Mythical Creatures
Senātus Populusque Rōmānus
Trees get mighty tall when they remain unmolested for hundreds of years.
Again, I'm sure this has some sort of significance beyond what I see, but I see two dudes playing tug of war with a headless baby and that is awesome sauce.
You can rent out boats and paddle around for 3 euro (per person). I did no such thing.
Artsy fartsy sun glare
Hedges!
Chase attempts an escape
See you later Borghese, we'll be back.
