I have lots of fond Easter memories. Coloring eggs with my mom, Hunting for eggs with my little brother, eating peeps till I puke, getting huge baskets full of candy, wishing the chocolate bunny wasn't hollow... The kind of memories that a lot of us have. In Italy it is definitely a different thing. It's more about being with family then anything else and there is no easter bunny as far as I can tell. Also, no peeps and I have yet to see any egg dying kits. They do however, have a giant chocolate egg, usually with some kind of toy surprise inside in lieu of a basket full of fake neon colored grass. I made damn sure to get my paws on one of those bad boys and I cooked a nice dinner for the family. Here is photographic documentation:
Constance was super curious as to what this was when she saw it on the table this morning, when I gave it to her, she went ballistic.
Charity helped open it and I could tell she was pretty excited too
What the what? That's a lotta chocolate!
I gave it to Constance and asked, "Whatcha gonna do with it?"
She showed me. Smart kid.
There was another capsule inside, like a Russian nesting doll.
What was inside of the capsule? A tiny choking hazard!
We decided that mommy should keep it.
Constance just wanted chocolate anyway.
It was a little rainy, but that's no reason to stay inside all day, so we went out to play in some puddles.
Boy, oh boy, did Connie love jumping in puddles.
She had her orange and her umbrella and she was all set.
We payed a brief visit to the campus and as soon as she saw this, Constance said "Pretty!"
Then, after we came home, Constance and Charity watched Curious George while I whipped up a little dinner action
And then... bedtime. Night night and Happy Easter everyone!
We're still here for a couple more weeks and I'm sure to cram as much fun and exploring as I can into the near future. Stay tuned folks, we're not done yet. Peace out.
