There was a Street food/Food truck festival in Rome! How cool is that? I hadn't seen any food trucks since I've been in Europe so I figured it was mostly an American thing. I was dead wrong, people from all over the world love to stand around and eat things with their hands. To be fair, I didn't have a lot of cash so I didn't really sample all that many things, but I did take a ton of photos and I had a great day with my daughter as well. Check it out.
Constance was my steadfast companion on this wacky adventure
Constance looks coy as we prepare to enter the festival
This was my initial impression of the crowd, lots of kids and dogs and food and beer. (not pictured: dogs and food and beer)
The very first booth we saw was doing a little demo and one of their minions gave us a sticker and took a photo for us. Thanks, Zomato!
One of the main reasons I didn't grab much grub (aside from being broke) was that there were craaaazy long lines everywhere
Even the vegan place had a long ass line!
Food Family was servin' up Italian eats
If it came from a pig, these dudes had it.
Deep fried stuff, not as good as American Fair food though, no Snickers or Twinkies or Oreos or Corn Dogs or Turkey Legs or Elephant Ears
Cool little truck, more Italian grub
Pizza in a cup? No, but any pizza is good pizza.
Gelato and Tiramisu and stuff, gotta get them sweets.
So many food trucks...
I actually got something from these folks. Constance and I had a strawberry crostata (pie) with polenta flour.
The tables were chaos. It almost felt like a viking great hall
Homeboy got the 'itis, also known as a food coma. (He looks happy though)
They had some cool art on display
It was right near an art museum in Testaccio, after all...
This dude was running a pedal powered swingy thingy, and he was handing out stuff to the kiddies as they whizzed by
This little girl was stoked to get the pinwheel
Constance had enough of my chicanery and wanted to eat the crostata
This crostata...
So we found a quiet little spot to chow down, far from the maddening crowd.
Constance says: "not bad"
After our snack, Connie wanted to explore a bit
She found a rock and got pretty excited...
It was a pretty big rock, as it turns out.
After all the eating and walking and rock-lifting, my little bambina was pooped.
There you have it folks, Food Truck Fest 2015! I really had a blast hanging out with Connie all day, she really is a wonderful little girl and I'm a lucky dad to be able to spend days like this with her. That's all for today folks, thanks for stopping by and lending me your eyeballs. See ya!
